On behalf of the management board for Kwale Teachers’ Training College, I am honoured to be a pioneer and implementer of this ‘Great dream come true’. We are indebted to His Excellency Governor Salim Mvurya for his relentless efforts in steering Kwale County to the peak.
I welcome you all to our website which we hope to develop as the college grows. We believe the college will undergo speedy growth emanating from the partnership of the Ministry of Education and the County Government of Kwale. This timely investment has matured just in time for implementing the new competency-based curriculum as we gradually phase out the academic-oriented 8-4-4 system. Teacher education and training in Kwale is a milestone for Kwale and the whole Coast Region. It will go a long way in shaping and transforming society by raising a generation of passionate, competent, professional and ethical teachers that will catalyze a sustainable development agenda.
We commit to providing globally competitive quality education training and research for sustainable development and advanced individual well-being through the reduction of illiteracy. The teacher trainees will be equipped with knowledge skills and attitudes to enable them to prepare learners for the challenges of the future and in a flexible educational program taught to each student. We hope to blend all our core values of innovation, passion inclusivity and integrity to build a centre of excellence that will provide an educational platform for the community and the entire country to learn best practices for self-reliance and delivery of quality education.
